Atlantas Basketball Academy U18

Atlantas Basketball Academy was established in 2013. With only some years in life the specific Basketball Academy has currently more than 400 kids in its roster from allover Paphos due to the great job of Dimitris Delichristos an ex Greek international to the younger ages (U16). A Larissa born and raced basketball player with icons from the A1, A2 and B Division league in Greece 

The Atlantas basketball academy was founded in August 2013 and a member of the Cyprus Basketball Federation (KOK) since October 2014. The academy operates in Paphos and academy train annually over 300 children (boys and girls) aged 4-16 years.

The ultimate goal of the academy is to attract as many children as possible in sports learning their secrets of basketball but also to offer them education both on and off the court.

The vision, the availability and expertise of the founders of sets as non-negotiable goal of the academy cultivating sports and basketball culture, simultaneously with the entertainment of athletes, while both children and their parents will have the opportunity to be notified via seminars and other events both for sports and social issues.

The academy is not limited to the narrow confines of basketball but enables all aspects of sport and its social role. Events, excursions, visits, seminars and charity / voluntary work are some of the main elements of the standard operation of the academy. The training capacity of the academy follows a single and specific coaching philosophy that provides each athlete conditions to bring his talent to learn the game in an environment full of sports stimuli to develop individual skills and to cultivate a climate solidarity and cooperation by promoting the sporting spirit.

 

The academy, during operation, has annual events multitude of innovative events for Cyprus as Atlantas Open Day (the official start of each season with the presentation of official uniforms and activities for the year completed), the Atlantas Fun Day (every October is a day dedicated to children and their parents with game, competitions and surprises), the Atlantas Christmas Show (which marks the winter holidays and is conducted in the presence of Santa Claus with lots of competitions and fun atmosphere), the Atlantas Cinema Premier, the annual internal tournament 4on4 and there is close cooperation with the Nos. 1 academy in Greece (Greek Basketball Academy, GVA) and other academies in Thessaloniki and Larissa, and continuous participation in academies international tournaments and camps in Greece during the Easter holidays the summer period.

 

The highlight for 2015 were the 3on3 Atlantas Streetball Round 2, the Altantas Summer School (second consecutive year) and Atlantas Academy Basketball Camp Vol. 2. To 2014 in Atlantas Academy Basketball Camp we had the participation of the international Greek basketball player Lazaros Papadopoulos and renowned coach Christos Magkotsiou (from Nov. 1 Greek academy GBA) and the leader of the National Cyprus Panayiotis Trisokka while in 2015 we had the honor to host the living legend Slobodan Subotić.
