Second Week - Results and Details

Etha (1-1) recorded a loss in Paphou on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by APOP(1-0) 72-71. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Will Artino (211-92) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. GuardJames Milliken (188-93, college: Creighton) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Etha's coach Giorgos Bitzanis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. APOP are looking forward to face AEK in Larnaca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Etha will have a break next round. 
Very important is a road loss of Apoel (1-1) against Keravnos (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Apoel was defeated by Keravnos in a tough game in Strovolos 67-74. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Kenny Barker (191-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Terell Parks contributed with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds for Apoel. Keravnos will play against Apollon (#6) in Limassol in the next round. Apoel will play at home against Enosis to get more than just one victory in their record.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AEK will meet at home APOP in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Enosis will play against Apoel (#5) in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals. 

Enosis - AEK 62-74

The game in Paralimni was also quite interesting. AEK (2-0) played at the court of Enosis (0-2). AEK defeated Enosis 74-62 on Saturday. American players dominated the game. Power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Forward Michale Kyser (208-91, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and forward Willie Atwood (201-94, college: Arizona St.) scored 20 points. Four Enosis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AEK will meet at home APOP in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Enosis will play against Apoel (#5) in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Trevis Wyche (185-95, college: St.Peter's) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests.
