Week 18: Keravnos gives some interest to the league after beats AEK 81-72

Keravnos Strovolou with an amazing Ronald Ross, (The American guard scored 15 points, dashed down 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals with just 3 turnovers in 39.51' ) was one of the main reason to succeed this crucial victory over AEK, while the biggest surprise from all came from the Canadian power forward/center Walker who not only scored 13 points in 12.21'' but also he played amazing defense over the Slovenian seven footer Brezec and together with O'Brien let him to score just one point in 23.09' in the court. Jake O'Brien (206-F-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS)nn on the other hand was the top scorer of the game with his 22 points, and 7 rebounds but most of all is that he played wonderful against and won many "fights" in the paint and against their rivals, Brezec, Petrovic and Bowman occasionally.

The final score was 81-72 and it seems that Keravnos found the strength to come back after a lousy month while is interesting the fact that after the replacement of last season's MVP Thomas Massamba, with Ross, the Strovolos team found some how the psychology and the passion that was missing from the roster in the previous games.
Top scorer from AEK was the newcomer Duren with 16 points, followed by McFadden who scored 13 and Bowman who added 11. Unfortunately the game interrupted for a while when Trisokkas, Palalas and Barker enter to a small fight which resulted the technical foul to the two of three players while Barker will not be able to play in the crucial game against APOEL in a couple of days.. The MVP of the game was most definitely Jake O' Brien with his solid game at both edges in both defense and offense.

On the other games of the week, APOEL succeeded another victory over Apollon, this time in Limassol with 67-76 with an awesome second period where APOEL outscore the home team with 17-30 and sealed the vicotry from an early spot. Apollon played without McRay and Appleby and was an easy target for APOEL who had Ramsey with 20 points, Heath with 15, Dubois with 13 and Biggs with 11 and Eziukwu in his first double-double figure in Cyprus courts with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Sizopoulos offered 7 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists jn an all around game. On behalf of Apollon, MAson scored 22 points, followed by Braswell 16 and Pettway 9.

Lastly in the games of the Zone B, ETHA beat E.N. Paralimni with 74-76 in an absolute derby with PEarson scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds!, followed by Golden who scored 17 and 9 assists and Cumberbatch 12, while from E.N. Paralimni who missed the chance to add anotehr victory this season other than against Anagennisi and Omonia, top scorer was Hot with 25 points, followed by Huskisson's 16 and Samuels 12.

In the fourth pair of the Zone B, and in a no defense game Omonia beat Anagennisi Germasogias in Limassol with 98-105, with Anagennisi being totally a different team since the Lithuanian Vetrenka joined the team. Top scorer was Manigat with 23 points followed by Watson who scored 21 and Nwaukoni who scored 20 points and dashed down 19 rebounds!! while Jamar scored 19 points and 15 rebounds with 6 assists!! The young guard Papakostas in his career high performance scored 19 points in 28 minutes adding 2 assists and proving that is improving day by day ! On behalf of Anagennisi, top scorer was Dumars with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists followed by Toumpazos with 19 points, Englicky 16 and 12 rebounds and Vetrenka 14 points and 14 rebounds!

On the other games of the week, Omonoia beat Anagennisi with 105-98 while APOEL beat Apollon with 76-67 and ETHA beat E.N Paralimniou with 76-74
